Nikolay Andreevich Kovalev (b. 01.06.1937, v. Stary Dedin, Klimovichi district, Mogilev region), a scientist in the field of veterinary medicine. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (2003), Academician of the Academy of Agrarian Sciences of the Republic of Belarus (1994-2002), Doctor of Veterinary Sciences (1977), Professor (1979).
Scientific research are devoted to the epizootology of pathogenesis, the development and improvement of diagnostic tools and methods, and the treatment and prevention of infectious, mainly viral, animal diseases. Examined a number of issues of Epidemiology Pathogenesis and developed a lifetime and posthumous diagnostic methods, as well as monovalent vaccines against rabies, parainfluenza-3 (PG-3), infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IRT) bovine rotavirus disease of pigs, canine distemper, parvovirus enteritis swine pasteurellosis horses , bivalent vaccines against PG-3 and RTIs; RTIs and bovine viral diarrhea; transmissible gastroenteritis and swine rotavirus disease; plague and rabies carnivores; polyvalent vaccines against pasteurellosis, colibacillosis, adenoviral and rotavirus disease of calves and pigs; pasteurellosis, chlamydia and adenoviral disease of cattle, whey drugs against these diseases. Developed more than 35 biological products and methods for the diagnosis and prevention of infectious animal diseases.
Author of 360 scientific papers, incl. 8 monographs, 19 inventions and patents.
Awarded with the Order "Badge of Honor" (1971), medals.
