Nikolay Konstantinovich Myshkin (b. 12.05.1948, Ivanovo, Russia), a scientist in the field of materials science and tribotechnology. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (2009; corresponding member since 2004), Doctor of Engineering Sciences (1985), Professor (1991).
The main focus of scientific activity is the analysis of the topography and mechanical properties of the surface layers, the mechanics and electrophysics of contact of solids, the diagnostics of machine wear, the scientific instrumentation for the analysis of surface layers and contact interactions at the micro and nano levels. Developed new materials and lubricants for friction units, instruments for diagnosing machine wear, atomic force microscopes, adhesiometers, tribometers and microtribors.
Author of more than 200 scientific papers, 12 monographs, more than 50 author's certificates and patents, incl. more than 20 foreign.
The Leninist Komsomol Prize in Science and Technology in 1982. Prize of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus for the best scientific work of 1993. Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology in 2004. Prize of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in 2011.
