Vladimir Nikolaevich Reshetnikov (b. 06.01.1938, v. Kholopenichi, Glussk district, Mogilev region), biologist. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (2000; corresponding member since 1991), Doctor of Biological Sciences (1987), Professor (1992). Honored Scientist of the Republic of Belarus (2008).

Scientific works in the field of biochemistry and plant physiology. Conducted research in the field of composition, structure and functional activity of intracellular organelles, biosynthetic systems of a plant cell. He determined the specificity of plastids during polyploidization of the cell nucleus, proposed the hypothesis of physiological and biochemical interaction of nuclei and plastids during tissue differentiation and during plant ontogenesis. It showed species and sort specificity of potato proteins and individual triticale enzyme systems. Conducted a biochemical study of transgenic plants. Contributed to the study and identification of ways to use spare and biologically active substances of plants in the food industry, the introduction of the developed technologies in production.

Author of more than 400 scientific papers, incl. 11 monographs, 2 copyright certificates, 12 patents.

Awarded with medals.
