ASTASHINSKY Valentin Mironovich

Valentin Mironovich Astashinsky (b. 29.06.1950, Minsk), a scientist in the field of plasma-energy processes and technologies. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (2014), Doctor of Physico-Mathematical Sciences (2000), Associate Professor (2010).

Scientific works in the field of physics and technology of high-energy plasma-dynamic systems of a new generation and modification of materials under the influence of compression plasma flows generated by such systems. He introduced the concept of the decisive influence of ion-exchange processes on the flow of a magnetized plasma in quasistationary plasma-dynamic systems, in which the ion-drift acceleration of a magnetized plasma is realized. Developed a method of obtaining high-energy kompressionnyh streams with the highest possible values ​​of plasma parameters. Developed methods for the effective structural-phase modification of the surface properties of materials widely used in industry, allowing them to significantly improve their performance.

Author of more than 570 scientific papers, including 3 monographs, 19 copyright certificates and patents.

Prize of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences named after academician V.A. Koptyug (2014) for the series of works “Physical principles for improving the operational properties of the surface of eutectic silumins under the influence of intense electron beams and compression plasma flows”.
