Alexey Vladimirovich Bely (b. 15.05.1950, Rostov-na-Donu, Russia), physicist. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (2004), Doctor of Engineering Sciences (1990), Professor (1995).
Scientific research in the field of materials science, surface physics, tribotechnics. A significant contribution has been made to the study of the physics of the interaction of charged particles with surface layers of solids. Developed a new promising scientific direction - low-energy ion implantation at high ion current densities. He established a number of regularities of structural transformations and radiation-stimulated diffusion, the main mechanisms for improving the physicomechanical properties of materials when irradiated with high-density ion beams; the relationship of implantation parameters, microstructure and operational characteristics of surfaces. Scientific developments were the basis for creating new technologies for surface engineering and the necessary equipment, high-strength, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials.
Author of over 230 scientific papers, incl. 6 monographs, 23 copyright certificates and patents for inventions.
The Leninist Komsomol Prize in 1982, the BSSR State Prize in 1988, the Prize of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Siberian Branch of the RAS named after Academician V.A. Koptyug in 2002.
Awarded with the Medal of the Society of Metallurgists and Metal Physics of France (1997).
