Pavel Semenovich Grinchuk (b. 17.05.1976, Sharkovschina, Vitebsk region), a scientist in the field of thermal physics, the creation of energy-efficient technologies. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (2017), Doctor of Physico-Mathematical Sciences (2014).
Scientific works in the field of thermal physics, research on the problems of burning heterogeneous media with a stochastic structure, the development of mathematical methods for describing stochastic structures (in particular, methods of percolation theory), and the creation of high-temperature composite materials. For the first time, the concept of the energy limits of combustion in heterogeneous mixing systems was proposed and substantiated. A line of energy-efficient furnace equipment designed for heating, heat treatment and chemical-thermal treatment of metals was developed, brought to full-scale development at one of the flagships of the domestic machine-tool industry - Baranovichi Machine-Tool Plant.
Deputy Head of the Efficient Thermophysical Processes and Technologies subprogramme of the State Program of Scientific Research “Energy Systems, Processes and Technologies”, member of the State Expert Council No. 4 “Energetika”, member of the Expert Council of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus (for the Energy Efficiency Section), member of several working groups established by government decrees to address issues of socio-economic development of the Republic of Belarus, member of the Scientific and Technical Council the development of the tire industry in the Republic of Belarus and others. Member of the Council on thesis at the Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer named after A.V. Lykov of the NAS of Belarus.
Author of more than 150 scientific papers, including 2 chapters in collective monographs, more than 60 articles in refereed journals, 13 inventions.
Prize of the National Academy of Sciences for Young Scientists in 2003 for the series of works “Percolation phenomena in heat transfer processes in structurally disordered heterogeneous environments”. Winner of the scholarship of the President of the Republic of Belarus for talented young scientists (2006), holder of the grant of the President of the Republic of Belarus in science (2015).
