Alexander Fedorovich Ilyushchenko (b. 26.05.1956, Minsk), a scientist in the field of powder metallurgy and composite materials. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (2009), Doctor of Engineering Sciences (1998), Professor (2001). Academician of the Belarusian Academy of Engineering (1997).
Scientific works in the field of powder metallurgy, composite materials, gas-thermal coatings. He made a significant contribution to the development of the theoretical foundations of the formation of coatings applied using high-energy sputtering methods. He developed the foundations of a new scientific field - high-temperature powder materials science, the theory of phase and structural transformations in alloys on cobalt and nickel bases in heat-resistant coatings at operating temperatures of 600-1150°C. Developed a range of fundamentally new materials and protective coatings for gas turbine engines, parts of power equipment and petrochemistry, a number of composite materials based on metal alloys, metal-ceramic, ceramic and diamond-containing composite powders, fundamentally new compositions based on tau borides, alloys with amorphous structure, superalloys, iron aluminides, hydroxyapatite. Developed the physical principles of creating a new class of materials - dispersion-strengthened, by the methods of internal oxidation of refractory alloys with high values of high-temperature strength and low-temperature plasticity, by means of SHS, detonation synthesis.
Author of more than 550 scientific papers, incl. 17 monographs and books, 55 inventions and patents.
State Prize of the Republic of Belarus in 2001 for the work "Protective Powder Coatings: Theory, Technology and Practice", Prize of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in 2012 for outstanding scientific results obtained in the course of joint research on the cycle of works "Nanostructured powder constructional materials and coatings: design, synthesis, processing and application".
Awarded with the Medal of Francisk Skaryna (2006).
