KOVALENYA Alexander Alexandrovich

Alexander Alexandrovich Kovalenya (b. 14.03.1946, Kopyl, Minsk region) - historian. Corresponding Member (2014), Doctor of Historical Sciences (2000), Professor (2004). Honored Scientist of the Republic of Belarus (2014). Excellence in Education of the Republic of Belarus (2002).

The main areas of scientific activity are studies of the history of the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War, the partisan movement and the underground struggle in the occupied territory of Belarus (1941—1944), the youth movement of the 20th century.

Author of more than 400 scientific and methodological papers, including 21 monographs, 58 textbooks, teaching aids, scientific and methodical works and programs.

Awarded with the Francisk Skaryna Medal (2006), the gold medal of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus “For Great Contribution to the Development of Science” (2016), other medals.
