Petr Pavlovich Matus (b. 24.07.1953, Ross, Volkovysk district, Grodno region) - a scientist in the field of computational mathematics. Corresponding Member (2017), Doctor of Physico-Mathematical Sciences (1995), Professor (1996).
Scientific research in computational mathematics and mathematical modeling. Completed the fundamental work in the field of construction and research of computational methods of adaptive type and exact difference schemes, which allow to significantly reduce the computer time when modeling applied problems on a computer. Author of pioneering work on the coefficient and nonlinear stability of solutions of differential operator equations and operator-difference schemes. On the basis of the proposed and studied computational methods, he developed software packages and carried out direct modeling of many applied problems of physics and engineering, including problems of laser technology and hydroecological problems; modeling of heat and mass transfer processes in oil refining processes; simulation of spacecraft thermal regimes.
Author of more than 250 scientific papers, including 3 monographs.
