Vitold Kazimirovich Pestis (b. 22.02.1949, v. Porechye, Grodno district, Grodno region), a scientist in the field of animal husbandry. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (2003), Corresponding Member of the Academy of Agrarian Sciences of the Republic of Belarus (1999-2002), Doctor of Agricultural Sciences (1988), Professor (1988). Honored Worker of Education of the Republic of Belarus (2001). Honorary Professor of the International University of Vienna (2008).
Scientific works in the field of feeding farm animals and feed technology. Contributed to the development of scientific and technical problems of integrated use in the feeding of farm animals of local sources of protein mineral and vitamin raw materials. He carried out research on the theoretical and practical issues of increasing the usefulness of feeding farm animals and their productive qualities. He proposed a theoretical justification and developed new methods and methods for the practical application of sapropel as feed additives in animal husbandry. Developed technical conditions for a new plant-protein feed, the practical application of which allows to reduce the protein deficiency in pig diets, to reduce feed consumption per unit of production.
Author of more than 200 scientific and educational articles, 12 textbooks, 7 monographs, 30 inventions protected by copyright certificates and patents, 10 specifications and recommendations for production.
