Zhanna Aleksandrovna Rupasova (b. 07.06.1944, Kustanay, Kazakhstan), a scientist in the field of ecology, agrochemistry, plant physiology and biochemistry. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (2004). Doctor of Biological Sciences (1991), Professor (1999).
She proposed a new approach to studying the transformation of forest ecosystems in Belarus under the influence of man-made and recreational loads, which made it possible to uncover the physiological mechanisms of their adaptation to specific conditions of functioning. The most priority scientific developments are made on cowberry plants. For the first time, the individual specificity of seasonal rhythms of endogenous regulation of the development and metabolism of cranberry large-fruited during the implementation of the species genetic program has been established and the nature of adaptive physiological reactions ensuring a high level of plasticity of the species with varying mineral background has been identified. A highly efficient interactive system for optimizing the mineral nutrition of the large-fruited cranberry industrial crop has been developed and patented. The complex assessment of the blueberry's adaptation potential is high when introduced in Belarus.
