Grigory Ivanovich Taranukho (b. 25.09.1933, v. Voznesensk, Klimovo District, Bryansk Region, Russia) - breeder and seed grower. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (2003), Corresponding Member of the Academy of Agrarian Sciences of the Republic of Belarus (1996-2002), Doctor of Agricultural Sciences (1978), Professor (1980). Honored Scientist of the BSSR (1990). Inventor of the USSR (1990). Excellence in Education of the Republic of Belarus.
Scientific works in the field of breeding, genetics, seed production and technology of cultivation of agricultural crops. He created a valuable gene pool of new forms, samples and varieties of cultivated plants, developed a number of theoretical concepts for improving the selection and seed-growing processes of field crops. Under his leadership, extensive research, selection and genetic work has been carried out on yellow and narrow-leaved lupine, winter rye and spring barley, winter and spring wheat, meadow clover and eastern galega, flaxen and other crops. Created 4 varieties of yellow and 4 varieties of narrow-leaved lupine, one variety of spring barley and winter wheat.
Author of more than 250 papers, including 12 textbooks and manuals, 3 monographs, 9 author certificates for inventions and varieties.
Awarded with the Orders of Friendship of Peoples (1986), "Badge of Honor" (1973).
