Developed and implemented a new scientific direction in green building in Belarus and the CIS countries - mobile container gardening of cities, including selection criteria, the technology of preparing planting material and agricultural techniques of plant maintenance, taking into account their allelopathic interaction and the pace of development. He proposed and experimentally substantiated a new methodical approach in the introduction search for promising decorative garden forms for green building, which would reduce the time for their initial assessment. Established the limiting environmental factors for a container culture of a new ornamental group of woody plants with dwarf growth; revealed differences in the ontogenesis of cultivars and parent species. On the basis of his method of selection using spontaneous somatic mutations, for the first time domestic varieties of decorative forms of coniferous species with pronounced dwarf growth were obtained. Organizer and creator in the republic of a number of collections of ornamental plants. He studied the influence of abiotic and biotic factors on the rhizogenesis of stem cuttings, the stability and productivity of introduced species and rare forest species. On this basis, more than 100 varieties of ornamental plants, the creation of plantations of highly productive introductions and the preservation of a relict species of white fir for Belarus have been developed and introduced technologies for growing planting material.
Author of more than 140 scientific papers, including 10 monographs and collective scientific works, 33 varieties of decorative coniferous plants.
