Alexander Vasilyevich Tuzikov (b. 05.09.1958, Polotsk, Vitebsk region) - a scientist in the field of computer science. Corresponding Member (2014), Doctor of Physico-Mathematical Sciences (2000), Professor (2005).
Received new results on solving multicriteria problems of discrete optimization, processing and analyzing digital images, calculating geometric moments of image objects, developing algorithms for processing medical images of various modalities (ultrasound, computer and magnetic resonance imaging, histological) for medical teleconsultation support systems and computer simulation of operations ; structural comparison and prediction of the interaction of proteins, analysis of genetic data in order to identify dependencies in them, computer modeling and search in chemical compounds bases that can be used to develop promising drugs against HIV-1.
Author of 350 scientific papers, including 5 monographs.
Lenin Komsomol Prize of Belarus (1990) for the work "Combinatorial algorithms for solving problems of optimal planning and design". State Prize of the Republic of Belarus (2002) for the cycle of research “Recognition and analysis of stochastic data and digital images”. Prize of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (2017) for the series of works “Computer design of potential HIV-1 inhibitors promising for the creation of antiviral drugs of a new generation”.
Awarded with the Francisk Skaryna Medal (2009).
