AHVERDOV Iosif Nikolaevich

Iosif Nikolaevich Ahverdov (28.06.1916, Tbilisi, Georgia – 19.01.2007), a construction scientist. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1960), Doctor of Engineering Sciences (1958), Professor (1962). Honored Scientist of the BSSR (1989). Member of the Great Patriotic War.

Scientific studies are devoted to the problems of physico-chemical mechanics, the rheology of concrete mixtures, the strength and deformability of concrete, the technology of manufacturing concrete and reinforced concrete products and structures. Developed and introduced into production the method of separate underwater and surface concreting of massive structures, the production technology of reinforced concrete pressure and non-pressure pipes.

Author of more than 400 scientific papers, incl. 16 monographs.

Awarded with the Order of the Patriotic War of the II degree (1985), Red Star (1943), "Badge of Honor" (1966), Francisk Skaryna Medal (1997), medals.
