In memory of the scientist :: BLIODUKHO Nikolai Fedorovich

Nikolai Fedorovich Bliodukho (10.12.1878, Cherven, Minsk region – 13.01.1935), geologist. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1928), Professor (1926).

— Graduated from Petersburg Mining Institute (1903).
— Since 1923 - Head of the Department of Geology of the Belarusian State University.
— Since 1922 - Head of the Mountain Division of the CNE of the BSSR.
— Since 1926 - Head of the Commission for the Study of the Productive Forces of the Republic.
— In 1927-1928 - Director of the Inbelkult Institute of Geology, in 1929-1935 - Director of the Institute of Geology and Hydrogeology of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences.

The organizer of the geological survey and mineral exploration in the BSSR. Studied chalk sediments and phosphorites on the river Sozh. The research results were the basis for the construction of the Krichevsky cement plant. According to the results of the geomagnetic survey, he gave a forecast of detecting iron ore concentrations in the depths of the republic. For the first time, he compiled geological maps of subsurface and quaternary sediments, minerals of the BSSR.

Published about 20 scientific papers, incl. 3 monographs.
