Ivan Antonovich Bryl (Yanka Bryl; 04.08.1917, Odessa, Ukraine – 25.07.2006), writer. Honorary Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1994). People's Writer of the BSSR (1981). Member of the Great Patriotic War. Deputy of the Supreme Council of the BSSR in 1963-1967 and 1980-1985.
Printed since 1938. Author of stories, novels, novels, books of journalism: collections "Apaviadanni" (1946), "Vierasniovaja ruń" (1949), "Pačatak stalasci" (1957), "Praciah razmovy" (1962), "Akrajec chlieba" (1977), "Sionnia i pamiać" (1985), "Ad siaŭby da žniva" (1987), the stories "Siročy chlieb", "U Zabalocci dnieje" (1950), "Na Bystrancy" (1955), "Nižnija Bajduny" (1975), "Zolak, ubačany zdaliok" (1978), the novel "Ptuški i hniozdy" (1963), the book of lyrical miniatures "Žmienia soniečnych promniaŭ" (1965) and "Vitraž" (1972). In collaboration with A. Adamovich and V. Kolesnikom, he wrote the book "Ja z vohniennaj vioski..." (1975). He published several books of prose for children.
