CHECHUGA Bazyl

Bazyl Chechuga (30.10.1930 - 10.09.2017, Plutyche, Poland), a scientist in the field of biochemistry and ecology. Foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1995). Doctor habilitovany (1963), Professor (1972).

Scientific research in the field of aquatic ecology, biochemistry. He studied the role of carotenoids and their derivatives in the processes of photosynthesis, growth and adaptation of organisms to various environmental factors. He acts as an environmental expert in a number of international organizations and is a member of various committees related to environmental activities.

Author of more than 400 scientific papers, incl. 4 monographs.
