Boris Vasilyevich Erofeev (10.05.1909, v. Pendelka, Penza Region, Russia – 24.11.1995), physical chemist. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1947; Corresponding Member since 1940), Doctor of Chemical Sciences (1940), Professor (1941). Honored Scientist of the BSSR (1979).
Work on chemical kinetics, catalysis, topochemical reactions, auto-oxidation of organic compounds, physical chemistry of polymers. He proposed the equations of the kinetics of successive reactions in a matrix form, derived topokinetic equations. He developed the ligand-field theory of heterogeneous catalysis, catalytic systems for the polymerization of olefins. Discovered a phenomenon associated with oxidation of decarboxylation. Developed a layered material used in aircraft, and anti-block composition for cellophane production.
Author of more than 600 scientific papers, incl. 5 monographs and 87 inventions.
State Prize of the USSR in 1946.
Awarded with the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1944, 1952), the Red Star (1946), the Badge of Honor (1950), and medals.
