In memory of the scientist :: GAUSMAN Fedor Oskarovich

Fedor Oskarovich Gausman (01.11.1868, Grodno region – 1944), therapist. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1933), Doctor of Medical Sciences (1912), Professor (1924). Honored Scientist of the BSSR (1931).

— Graduated from Yurievsk (Tartu) University (1894).
— Since 1918 - Assistant Professor of the Moscow University.
— In 1924-1941 - Professor and Head of the Hospital Therapy Clinic of the Medical Faculty of the Belarusian State University (since 1930 - Minsk Medical Institute).
— In 1936-1941 - Head of the Medical Cabinet of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR.

Conducted research on palpation of the gastrointestinal tract. He proposed a number of laboratory research methods: a reaction to urobilin (a Gausman test), a method for diagnosing hidden diseases of the renal pelvis, a method of listening to swallowing noises.

Author of more than 210 scientific papers, incl. 5 monographs.
