Pavel Osipovich Gorin (real Kolyada; 15.01.1900, Bereza, Brest region – 25.04.1938), historian, statesman. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1931), Doctor of Historical Sciences (1934).
— Graduated from the Communist University named after Y.M. Sverdlov (1921) and the Institute of Red Professorship (1925).
— In 1927-1930 - Employee, Deputy Director of the Institute of History of the Communist Academy, at the same time - Deputy Editor of the magazine "Proletarian Revolution".
— In 1931-1936 - President of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences, at the same time - Director of the Institute of History of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences.
— Since 1936 - Deputy Chairman of the Scientific Committee under the Central Executive Committee of the USSR, Head of the Department of History of the USSR of the Moscow State University.
— In 1931-1936 - member of the CEC and the Presidium of the CEC of the BSSR.
— In 1937 was arrested, in 1938 was sentenced to capital punishment. Rehabilitated in 1955.
Major works on the history of the Soviets in the revolution of 1905-1907 and the October Revolution. Editor of the Works of V.I. Lenin in the Belarusian language.
