IVASHIN Vasily Vladimirovich

Vasily Vladimirovich Ivashin (09.05.1913, v. Lyakhovichi, Dzerzhinsk district, Minsk region – 06.11.2009), literary critic, teacher. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1995), Academician of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the USSR (1967), foreign member of the Russian Academy of Education (1999), Doctor of Philological Sciences (1965), Professor (1973). Member of the Great Patriotic War.

The main scientific works are devoted to the history and theory of Belarusian literature, problems of the development of realism, Belarusian-Russian, Belarusian-Ukrainian literary interrelations, methodology and methods of teaching literature in school. One of the authors of the textbook "Belarusian literature" for the 8th grade (with V. Borisenko, 1978; with M.A. Lazaruk, 1984), for the 9th class (with M.A. Lazaruk, 1994).

Published more than 300 scientific papers, incl. 7 monographs.

Awarded with the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1976), World War of the II degree (1985), medals.
