In memory of the scientist :: KAYGORODOV Aleksey Ivanovich

Aleksey Ivanovich Kaygorodov (14.11.1881, Novgorod, Russia – 27.09.1951), climatologist and geophysicist. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1947; Corresponding Member since 1936), Doctor of Physico-Mathematical Sciences (1934), Professor (1949).

— Graduated from Petersburg University (1908).
— Since 1914 - at the Main Geophysical Observatory in Petrograd.
— Since 1919 - Head of the Department of Meteorology and Climatology of the Gorki Agricultural Institute.
— Since 1930 - Director of the Belarusian Geophysical Observatory, at the same time in 1932-1938 - Scientist Specialist of the Physico-Technical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR, in 1936-1938 - Member of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR.
— Since 1938 - at the Main Directorate of the Hydrometeorological Service of the USSR.
— In 1941-1944 - Head of the Department of the Moscow Hydrometeorological Institute.
— Since 1945 - Head of the Department of the Moscow Regional Pedagogical Institute.
— In 1924-1926 - Member of the CEC of the BSSR.

Works on the research of climate, microclimate and agricultural meteorology of the BSSR. Developed recommendations for sowing time and other agricultural work for the BSSR. Gave a classification of climates of the globe.

Author of over 50 scientific papers, incl. 5 monographs.

Awarded with medals.
