Romuald Zdislav Klekovski(b. 01.01.1924, Pinsk, Brest region), a scientist in the field of ecology and ecological bioenergy. Doctor habilitovany (1966), Professor (1970). Academician of the Polish Academy of Sciences (1994, corresponding member since 1979), foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1995).
Scientific works are devoted to the problems of ecology and bioenergy of living organisms. Organizer since 1969 of the Polish polar expeditions in the Antarctic. Investigated the energy processes occurring at different levels of the organization of living matter. Developed scientific and methodological approaches for the analysis of energy flows in ecosystems. Coordinator and organizer of major projects carried out within the framework of the Polish Academy of Sciences in the field of the protection of natural resources. Member of the Committee on Ecology of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Author of more than 140 scientific papers, incl. monographs.
Awarded with the Medal of Victory and Freedom (1947), the Cross of the Knight of the Order of the Renaissance of Poland (1971), the Cross of the Commander of the Order of the Renaissance of Poland (1977), the Cross of the Commander with the star of the Order of the Revival of Poland (1986).
