Vladimir Ivanovich Nefed (27.01.1916, Shakhty, Rostov region, Russia – 23.04.1999), theater expert, playwright. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1972), Doctor of Art Criticism (1963). Professor (1964). Honored Artist of the BSSR (1975).
He studied issues of history, theory and modern practice of the Belarusian theater, the problems of drama and creativity of stage masters (books “Teatr u vognennyya gady”, 1959; “Suchasny belaruski teatr”, 1961; "The formation of the Belarusian Soviet Theater", 1965; State Prize of the BSSR in 1966). One of the authors of the “History of the Soviet Drama Theater” (v.1-6, 1966-1971), editor-in-chief and author of separate sections of the “History of Belarusian Theater” (v.1-3, 1983-1987). The author of one-act plays.
Published about 500 scientific papers, articles and reviews, incl. 13 monographs.
Awarded with the Order of the Badge of Honor (1944), medals.
