Vasily Borisovich Nesterenko (02.12.1934, v. Krasny Kut, Lugansk region, Ukraine – 25.08.2008), scientist in the field of nuclear energy. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1972), Doctor of Engineering Sciences (1968), Professor (1969). Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the BSSR (1979).
Work in the field of nuclear energy and radiation safety. One of the authors of the use of dissociating coolants in nuclear power. He conducted a series of studies on the study of new chemically reacting coolants, on the development and creation of methods for calculating thermal properties, heat exchange, gas dynamics and dissociating gas technology, analyzing cycles and schemes of nuclear power plants, identifying the technical and economic characteristics of nuclear power plants with fast neutrons.
Author of more than 300 scientific papers, incl. 15 monographs, more than 320 inventions.
State Prize of the BSSR in 1986 for the development of biotechnology and the creation of industrial production of rizotorfin using the radiation method of sterilization of the substrate and the introduction of the drug in agriculture.
Awarded with the Order of the Badge of Honor (1975), medals.
