Fedor Vasilievich Oleshkevich (05.05.1936, v. Bolotse, Novogrudok district, Grodno region – 29.12.2008), neurosurgeon. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1996; corresponding member since 1994), Doctor of Medical Sciences (1973), Professor (1980).
Scientific research are devoted to vascular disorders of the brain, traumatic brain injuries, brain tumors, epilepsy, pain syndromes. He developed and applied a new method for treating cerebral arterial spasm - the local effect of navocainamide on the brain vessels. For the first time studied the role and importance of lipid peroxidation in traumatic brain injury.
Author of about 300 scientific papers, incl. 8 monographs and 6 inventions.
