Petr Tikhonovich Petrikov (12.07.1927, v. Nikolaevka, Dobrush district, Gomel region – 03.07.2007), historian. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1977), Doctor of Historical Sciences (1973), Professor (1978). Member of the Great Patriotic War.
The main works are devoted to the study of the history of national-state construction in Belarus, the activities of the revolutionary committees to assist the Red Army and the restoration of Soviet power after the expulsion of Polish interventionists from Belarus in 1920, the work of the Soviets of People's Deputies of the BSSR in the post-war years, the organization of health care, the history of science and historiography Of Belarus. One of the authors and editors of the “History of the Belarusian SSR” in 5 volumes (vol. 5, 1975), “Academy of Sciences of the Belarusian SSR” (1979), “National Academy of Sciences of Belarus” (1998), “Achievements of Historical Science in the BSSR for 60 years "(1979). The head of the group of authors, the editor-in-chief and one of the authors of the "History of the Belarusian SSR" (1975), "The History of the Working Class of the BSSR" in 4 volumes (1984-1987), "Essays on the history of science and culture of Belarus in the XIX-beginning of XX centuries" (1996).
Author of more than 160 scientific papers, incl. 7 monographs and brochures, 2 textbooks.
State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR in 1984 for participation in the preparation and publication of works on the historical ties of the Belarusian and Ukrainian peoples.
