Petr Petrovich Prokhorenko (19.09.1939, v. Mezhenets, Belynich district, Mogilev region – 10.06.2008), a scientist in the field of nondestructive testing physics. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (2000; correspondent member since 1996). Doctor of Engineering Sciences (1988), Professor (1989).
Scientific research in the field of physics of non-destructive testing and technical diagnostics. He laid the theoretical foundations of capillary flaw detection, which made it possible on a scientific basis to control the sensitivity and performance of control using physical fields (ultrasonic, magnetic) and technological media (magnetic fluids).
Author of more than 350 scientific papers, incl. 9 monographs, 70 inventions.
