SHASHKOV Anatoly Gerasimovich

Anatoly Gerasimovich Shashkov (28.02.1927, Gomel – 24.01.2011), thermal physicist. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1980; corresponding member since 1970), Doctor of Engineering Sciences (1967), Professor (1967). Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the BSSR (1978).

Works on problems of thermo-anemometry, processes of heat transfer in gases and solids, the calculation of electrical circuits with heat-dependent resistances, the design of complex thermo-anemometric systems. He investigated the flow of viscous liquids through torsing devices, the heat transfer of solids with gases, the dependence of the thermal conductivity of gases and gas mixtures on temperature and concentration. Created the basics of a system-structural approach to the analysis of the tasks of heat conduction and the identification of the thermophysical properties of substances and heat fluxes.

Author of more than 180 scientific papers, incl. 14 monographs.

Prize of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus named after Academician A.V. Lykov in 2005 for a series of works "Heat and mass transfer in inhomogeneous media taking into account hydrodynamics, phase and chemical transformations".

Awarded with the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1986), medal.
