In memory of the scientist :: SHIROKOV Alexander Mikhailovich

Alexander Mikhailovich Shirokov (14.09.1924, v. Zaovrag, Kirov region, Russia – 14.10.2003), a scientist in the field of technical cybernetics and information theory. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1977), Doctor of Engineering Sciences (1972), Professor (1973). Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the BSSR (1975). Member of the Great Patriotic War.

— Graduated from the Military Engineering Radio Engineering Academy (1953).
— Since 1963 - engaged in research and teaching activities at the Minsk Higher Engineering Anti-aircraft Missile School of Air Defense, since 1980 - at the Belarusian State University, since 1982 - Head of the department, Dean of the Belarusian State University.
— Since 1990 - Rector of the non-state Institute of Modern Knowledge.

Scientific works in the field of technical cybernetics: the theory of reliability and operation of complex electronic systems, system analysis, assessment and quality assurance of complex systems. Received results in the field of determining the patterns of evolution of complex technical systems and the development of methods for assessing the quality characteristics of complex technical systems in the early stages.

Author of more than 200 scientific papers, incl. 5 monographs, 12 inventions.

Awarded with the Order of the Red Star (1945, 1965), World War of the II degree (1985), "For service to the Motherland in the Armed Forces of the USSR" of the II degree (1977), medals.
