Alexander Vasilievich Stepanenko (05.10.1938, Orsha, Vitebsk region – 15.02.2005), metalworking scientist. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1986; corresponding member since 1980), Doctor of Engineering Sciences (1974), Professor (1977). Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the BSSR (1988).
Works on new ways of processing materials. Developed the basic theoretical positions, methods and equipment for rolling, drawing and hydraulic pressing of metals using ultrasonic vibrations, continuous molding of metal powders and granules, methods of metal forming using active friction and vibration loading forces, obtaining variable section products, high-speed drawing of profiles and other metal and resource-saving metal processing.
Author of over 600 scientific papers, incl. 10 monographs, 400 inventions.
State Prize of the BSSR in 1984 for the development of the scientific basis for the use of high-power ultrasound in technological processes of processing materials.
Awarded with the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1981), medal.
