Vasily Kirillovich Bondarchik (01.08.1920, v. Kirovo, Slutsk district, Minsk region – 16.02.2009), ethnographer. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1972), Doctor of Historical Sciences (1965), Professor (1978). Honored Worker of Culture of the BSSR (1980). Member of the Great Patriotic War.

The main scientific papers on the history and modern Belarusian ethnography, folklore, material and spiritual culture.

Author of over 270 scientific papers, incl. 5 individual monographs and 27 monographs in collaboration.

Award of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in 1999 for the monograph "Bielarusy. Historyja etnalahičnaha vyvučennia".

Awarded with the Order of the Patriotic War of the II degree (1985), the medal of Francisk Skaryna (2001), medals.
