MEDVEDEV Vitaly Fedosovich

Vitaly Fedosovich Medvedev (26.09.1928 - 17.06.2020) a scientist and economist. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1984), Doctor of Economic Sciences (1981), Professor (1982). Member of the partisan movement in Belarus.

Born in v. Ugolshchina, Belynichi district, Mogilev region.

The works are devoted to the methodology of research, modeling and forecasting the development of regional economic systems, solving specific economic problems of the long-term and medium-term development of Belarus, building a system of information support for science, technology and production. He proposed a system of methods and models for developing forecasts, schemes for locating productive forces and integrated development of the national economy of Belarus, and developed a set of scientific substantiations for the formation and development of the national economic complex of the Republic of Belarus. He developed a model of international economic relations of the Republic of Belarus with the world community. Under his leadership, developed a national program for the development of exports, tourism in the medium term.

Author of more than 400 scientific papers, incl. 14 monographs.

Awarded with the Order "Badge of Honor" (1978), medals.
