Vyacheslav Sergeevich Tanaev (28.03.1940, v. Akulovo, Tebleshsky District, Tver Region, Russia – 19.07.2002), scientist in the field of mathematical cybernetics. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (2000; corresponding member since 1994), Doctor of Physico-Mathematical Sciences (1978), Professor (1980). Honored Scientist of the Republic of Belarus (1995).
Scientific works on applied mathematics, cybernetics, computer science. He developed the foundations of the theory of parametric decomposition of optimization problems, using which a number of important applied problems of optimal design and scheduling were solved. Developed the theory of timetables, its methods and models.
Author of more than 130 scientific papers, incl. 8 monographs, two of them reprinted abroad.
State Prize of the Republic of Belarus in 1998 for the series of works "Models and methods of the theory of timetables". Award of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in 2001 for the monograph "Schedule Theory: Group Technologies".
